PURPOSE: To improve the charging efficiency of the system and to minimize the amount of adding heterogeneous gas by adding insulation liquid to the pinching front area of a charging roller/photoconductor system. CONSTITUTION: A cleaning station 17 is realized by a blade 21 in light contact with a photoconductive roller 3 and the fixed amount of the insulation liquid 19 is passed through the blade 21 and stored in a pinching part 7 by a space between the roller 3 and the blade 21. A charging roller 5 is in contact with the roller 3 by a pressure sufficient for blocking the passage of the liquid 19 through the pinching part 7 of the roller 5 and the roller 3. In this case, at the time of the charging of an electrophotograph processing, when the fixed amount of the insulation liquid 19 occupies a part of the pinching front area between the roller 5 and the roller 3, an electric charge on the roller 3, that is the voltage of the roller 3, is increased. Thus, the charging efficiency is increased. |
