METHOD FOR STORAGE OF COMPRESSED IMAGE OF HIGH-RESOLUTION COMPUTER GRAPHICS

PURPOSE: To provide a graphic system capable of economically storing and operating full-color graphic images at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: The graphic system 50 for which video graphic images are calculated by a computer and outputted through buffers 55 and 56 for storage and images are compressed/expanded 57 and 58 since they are stored by compressed data in a dedicated semiconductor memory 59 is presented. The system 50 can store compressed images also in a hard disk by directly connecting 64 compressed image storage parts 59 and 63 to a system bus. The compressed image storage part 59 becomes double and a compression/expansion part is added further to an extension system. Further, one compression/expansion part is used as well.
