PURPOSE: To obtain low reflectivity in a wide wavelength region by providing an antireflection film with a high-refractive index layer consisting of a metal alkoxide, a low-refractive index layer consisting of a silicone alkoxide and fine ruggedness of the surface consisting of a metal salt. CONSTITUTION: A first layer is formed by applying a first coating compsn. contg. an alcohol soln. of the silicon alkoxide, the metal alkoxide, acid and water on the outside surface of a panel. A second layer is formed by applying a second coating compsn. contg. the alcohol soln. of the silicon alkoxide, the metal salt, the acid and the water on this first layer. The first layer and second layer applied on the outside surface of the panel are baked. The antireflection film formed in such a manner is constituted by successively coating the outside surface of the panel 1 of a cathode ray tube with the high-refractive index layer 6 based on the metal alkoxide and the low-refractive index layer 7 based on the silicon alkoxide. The fine ruggedness 8 based on the metal salt is formed on the outside surface of the low-refractive index layer 7. |
