PURPOSE:To save the space of the contact part with a subject to be temperature-measured by designing the terminal wiring of an optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of respective optical fiber cables 4, 5 for light projection and light receipt are arranged in parallel to each other by use of a prism 7 to save the space for terminal treatment part. A liquid crystal cell 5 is held by a heat receiving frame body 3 constituting of a high heat conductive material. and situated in the hollow part of the prism 7. The prism 7 has spherically formed lateral side surfaces 7a, 7b to have converging effect, and an optical beam is made incident on the light receiving end part after crossing the liquid crystal cell 6 at a right angle thereto on an optical path where the optical beam is deflected in U-shape by the total reflection by each side surface. The liquid crystal cell 6 is changed from light transmitting property at a low temperature to light shielding property at a high temperature with a prescribed temperature corresponding to the phase transition point as the boundary, so that it can be detected whether a subject 1 to be temperature-measured is less than the prescribed temperature (phase transition point) or more. |
