PURPOSE: To provide an air electrode, having thermal and dimensional stability by using a specified composition as the material for the air electrode. CONSTITUTION: An air chemical battery 10 is formed by adhering a solid electrolyte 18 onto a porous air electrode 16, and providing a fuel electrode 22 thereon through an interconnecting material 20. This electrode 16 is made of a composition expressed by a general formula La1-x-w (ML)x (Ce)w+z (MS1 )1-y (MS2 )y O3 . In the formula, ML means Ca, MS1 means Mn, MS2 means at least one kind of Ni, Cr and the mixture thereof. (x) is about 0.2, (w) is 0.1-0.2, (y) is 0.03-0.2, and (z) is 0.0-0.005. After extrusion or isotropic formation is performed on this composition, the composition is sintered so as to form the electrode 16. Rate of shrinkage of the air electrode is thereby reduced so as to prolong the lifetime of the cell. |
