PURPOSE:To provide a concentration cell type gas sensor capable of correctly measuring CO2, NOx, and SOx without being influenced by the change of the partial pressure of O2 gas. CONSTITUTION:A solid electrolyte can be obtained by adhesively laminating an alkaline ion conductor, (R2O)x(M2O3)y(SiO2)z [R: Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs, M: rare earth element, provided, 0<x<=0.6, 0<Y<1, 0<z<1, and x+y+z=1], and an ion conductor composed of (ZrO2) 100-m(M2O3) m [2<m<10]. The carbonate, surface nitrate of alkaline metal is provided as a porous electrode and auxiliary electrode on this conductor side, and also the porous electrode of Pt is provided on the oxide ion conductor side to form a gas sensor. Or previously a sintered body, having composition of (R2O)x(M2O3)z(SiO2)z baked at 1400-1700 deg.C, is closely fitted to (ZrO2) 100-m(M2O3)m[2<m<10] to be baked at 900 deg.C-1400 deg.C to form a laminated solid electrolyte. Sc, Y, La, and Ce, etc., can be cited as a usable rare earth element. |
