The invention relates to a device making it possible to lock the shutters of houses in the open or closed position. It consists of four main pieces (A.B.C.D). The piece (D) is fixed to the wall on the inside of the window and is provided with a groove (4). The piece (C) is fixed to the inside face of the shutter and is provided with notches at the base of the hole for the spindle. When the user bears on the handle (A), the two pins (2-3) are lowered and allow the pieces (B.C.D) to pivot about the pins (2-3) and allow the piece (B) to slide in the groove (4) in the piece (D). When the user releases the handle (A), the latter rises, as do the pins (2-3), automatically locking the shutters in the open or closed position. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for locking the shutters of houses. <IMAGE>
