Process for the manufacture of components for coating a surface such as a roof or wall. These given components are of the type which has the mechanical strength and the stability towards the environment of natural coating components such as slate and tile. This process is characterised in that a mixture is prepared of a resin based on polyurethane-base isocyanate, of a resin based on polyurethane-base polyol and of an agent for protection against ultraviolet radiation, and the coating components are produced by moulding, the weight ratio of the resins being 1/1 +/- 10 % and the proportion of the agent for protection against the ultraviolet radiation being from 1 to 5 % by weight relative to the total weight of the final mixture. The invention can be used in the field of building construction.
