PURPOSE:To make a designing process efficient by actualizing automatic recognition of a relative design program of CAD and automatic data transfer among respective designing processes. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd designing means 1 which perform executing processes independently of one another, a design data base group which is called by the respective designing means, i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd design data bases 2, and a process control part 3 which is connected to the respective design data bases and controls all the processes of CAD. This process control part 3 is provided with a design structure control file 4, which controls the hierarchical structure and version of an object to be designed and specifies how alterations of design contents of the designed object by one designing means are reflected which part of the designed object of other designing means. Further, the process control part is equipped with a designing means kind file 5 and transfer directions at the time of the transfer of data between the designing means are prescribed.
