PURPOSE:To provide the word correcting device which can eliminate the uncertainty of spelling even when a user inputs a character string whose spelling is uncertain. CONSTITUTION:The word correcting device is equipped with an uncertain word statement request part 110 which makes a request to state that the spelling of a word is uncertain irrelevantly to whether the spelling is correct or not, an information addition part 111 which adds information showing the uncertainty to the requested word on receiving the request from the uncertain word statement request part, a character string temporary storage part 101 which stores the object character string, a word decision part 104 which decides whether or not the object character string is a character string whose uncertainty of the uncertain word should be stated irrelevantly to whether or not the spelling is correct based on the content of an uncertain word statement request, and a display control part 105 which displays its result. |
