The headlight has a reflector which is arranged inside a housing (12). An adjusting device is provided for the reflector, which adjusting device has a setting element (30) which projects out of the headlight housing (12) and on whose rotation an adjustment of the reflector is carried out. The setting element (30) has at its actuating section (38) projecting out of the headlight housing (12) a tooling (48). In order to check the setting of the reflector, a display device (50) is provided which has a gear (toothed wheel) (54) which is in engagement with the toothing (48) of the setting element (30) and which has in an end face (55) a spiral-shaped groove (66). There engages in the groove (66) a slide (70) which is guided movably in a holder (69). On rotation of the setting element (30) the slide (70) is displaced, its position in the holder (69) being a measure for the setting of the reflector. There is therefore a step-down (stepping down) both between the setting element (30) and the gear (54) and also between the gear (54) and the slide (70), so that a large adjusting range of the reflector can be displayed on the display device. <IMAGE>
