Hook or eye for suspending chain hoists on fixed structures

A chain hoist has a chain sprocket on which the chain links lie at an angle with regard to the axis of the chain sprocket. When the chain runs on or off, the force application point jumps back and forth between two points lying in a direction parallel to the rotation axis of the chain sprocket. This results in a torque about the vertical axis. The torque leads to a rotary oscillation of the chain hoist upon suspension by means of a hook. In order to suppress this rotary oscillation, the hook or eye is provided with two bearing edges at a distance from one another. The distance between the bearing edges is equal to or greater than the distance between the force application points on the chain sprocket. <IMAGE>
