A method for spraying a material (5) whereby a spraying medium is supplied via outlets (4) attached to a rotating member (2), the spraying medium being a washing medium. Pre-washing nozzles (8) and rinsing nozzles (9) are also provided, the nozzles (8,9) being rotatably arranged. A fourth set of nozzles (15) are provided for the supply of a capillary rise reducing medium. Sodium alkane sulphonate or sodium benzoate or a mixture thereof is added to the washing means for treating fragmental mineral material, and a silicone polymer is used as the active agent in a capillary rise reducing means. A pressure of 20-25 bars is required for prewash and finishing nozzles (8,9), whilst 40 bars is preferable for the movable member (2). A nozzle (26) for spraying out a medium is also incorporated, the nozzle (26) comprising a fixed part (27) and a rotatable part (28) having a turbine-like rotating means (29) disposed therein. Also claimed is a washing drum (16) having rotatably arranged nozzles (23,24,25). |
