TOOL FOR MEASURING THE TWIST IN A TUBULAR MEMBER

A tool (85) for locating the position at which a tubular is jammed in a bore or inside another pipe comprises a sensor assembly (1) incorporating a torque sensor (2) and a separate and distinct tension sensor (3). The tool (85) is positioned at various depths inside the jammed tubular and torque and tension are applied to the top of the tubular. The location of the jam can be determined by comparing the twist and extension at different depths.
