The invention relates to an overload protection for locks, the locking of which is actuated by a lock mechanism by means of a handle, such as, for example, espagnolette locks, the overload protection repeatedly limiting or cancelling the non-positive connection between the handle and lock mechanism when the normal manual torque required for actuating the lock is exceeded. In the solution according to the invention, - the lock follower (2) is mounted rotatably in the lock case (6) by means of a safety bush (3) via the hub (1) having a safety groove (7), - the lock follower (2) is arranged rotatably via the square shaft (8) by means of a handle (5), - the safety bush (3) is assigned a press ring (4) with beading (9). <IMAGE>
