摘要 Reductively produced borosilicate glass having a transmission of at least 85% at a wavelength of 254 nm and a path length of 1 mm, a hydrolytic resistance of less than 100, in particular less than 62, micrograms of Na2O per g of granulated glass according to ISO 719, and a coefficient of thermal expansion alpha 20/300 of from 5 to 6 x 10<-6> K<-1>, and a composition of, in % by weight based on oxide, SiO2 58-65; B2O3 > 18-20.5; Al2O3 8.1-10.4; CaO 0-1; BaO 0-<2; SrO 0-2; Li2O 0-1.5; Na2O 5.5-8.5; K2O 0-3.0; SIGMA alkali metal oxides </= 10; SIGMA CaO + BaO + SrO </= 3; F 0-2, and an Al2O3 : Na2O molar ratio of 0.6-1. The glass is particularly suitable as UV-transparent material for Eprom windows, UV lamps, photomultipliers, spectral analysers, particularly under difficult climatic conditions, and as a protective tube for water-immersed UV lamps in effluent treatment.
