A wheel-securing device of a handcart comprises a wheel which is secured on a hub element by means of a number of latches each spring-loaded by an elastic element, and is fitted to a wheel axle by means of an annular washer followed by a cap and then this arrangement is secured on a wheel carrier. The hub element comprises a rim with a continuous, axial hole, a tubular bearing which is provided coaxially around the axial hole, a plurality of holders formed therein around the axial hole, and a multiplicity of slots which extend radially through it so that each of the openings is connected to a corresponding holder. A number of elastic elements are accommodated in the holders. A number of latches are each arranged on a corresponding, elastic element, in this case the latches being pretensioned through openings by means of an elastic element. The wheel axle is introduced through the clearance which runs transversely through the wheel carrier and also through the annular washer and the axial hole. The end of the wheel axle is then secured firmly on the cap. The hub element is secured on the shaft axle. The wheel is arranged coaxially to a tubular part and a number of clearances are arranged transversely through the tubular part.
