To bring the spray nozzle of a lens washing device into an optimum position in relation to the lens to be cleaned, it is formed in a nozzle block (3) which is extendable from the vehicle bodywork. The opening in the bodywork is closed with a cover (1) when the nozzle is in the inactive position. To compensate for bodywork tolerances, the cover is tiltably mounted on the nozzle block by means of pivot pins (6) formed on the nozzle block inserted in round holes (7) in the cover. Projecting stops (10) on the nozzle block engage in oversize recesses (13) in the cover to limit the amount of tilt. This arrangement is able to ensure that the cover cannot move relative to the nozzle block other than with the tilting movement permitted by the pivot pins in the round holes of the cover. <IMAGE>
