In order to control the heating power of at least two heating resistors, connected electrically in parallel, of electric domestic appliances in a manner which conforms to the flicker standard and has no feedback onto the mains, it is proposed according to the invention that the switches, which are connected in series to the heating resistors, are driven in a clocked manner and such that during a heating phase (H) the switches are open or closed in each case alternately and immediately one after the other in time during an opening time or a closing time by respectively changing the current-carrying branch.
