<p>A piano which has additionally an electronic sound source therein and with which the player can give a performance using the electronic sound source in addition to an ordinary piano performance. When the player gives both an ordinary performance and an electronic sound performance, the balance between the regular performance and the performance using the electronic sound source does not vary. When a key is pressed in an electronic sound source mode, a CPU finds the key number n^_ (S110), and measures the difference ΔT between the timings at which the light-emitting elements and light receiving elements of two key sensors are interrupted from each other (S120), and a velocity V is calculated on the basis of this time difference ΔT (S130). Performance information is then generated in a performance information generating routine in accordance with the key-pressing information (S140), and a delay time Td corresponding to the velocity V is determined by using a delay time setting table (S150). Whether the delay time Td has passed or not is judged (S160). When the delay time Td is judged to have passed, the performance information is outputted to the electronic sound source (S170).
