Folding propeller device for motorised gliders

A folding propeller (19) for a motorised glider is fitted to an engine mounting (17), which can pivot, such that it can be folded into the motorised glider's fuselage together with the engine. The propeller blades (28, 29) are mounted on one (or more) folding shaft or shafts (26) which runs or run transversely with respect to the propeller shaft axis (27). During the folding-up operation, one propeller blade pivots out of the propeller plane (32) and then into this propeller plane (32) once again, parallel to the other propeller blade, so that both blades lie parallel to one another in front of the engine mounting and do not require any larger fuselage opening for folding in than the folded-up propellers. The positioning is preferably accomplished by means of a positioning device (35) having a folding lever which engages in a positively locking manner in a longitudinal guide (40) in the propeller blade. <IMAGE>
