A method and an installation for painting the inner surfaces of tin-plate receptacles, such as cans, buckets, etc., are described. In this method, a powder paint is applied to the inner surface by electrostatic powder spraying, and the applied powder-paint coat is stoved at a temperature < 230 DEG C. The installation for carrying out the method is distinguished by a rotary table which is driven in timed sequence and contains a multiplicity of rotary plates for the rotational mounting of the receptacles to be painted. Furthermore, the installation has at least one spray gun which can be moved into a rotating receptacle and out of it again. Finally, the installation contains a sintering oven. An especially uniform and durable paint coating can be applied to the inner surfaces of receptacles by the method described. <IMAGE>
