Implement for lifting manhole covers

The implement is especially suitable for lifting manhole covers in which the intermediate space between frame and cover is badly soiled or corroded. Owing to the fact that the implement puts the manhole cover under tension by means of the helical springs due to the tightening and thus produces a high tensile stress, a few hammer blows to the manhole cover are sufficient and it jumps out. I have already built and tested the implement and it functions perfectly. The advantage of the implement consists in the fact that: 1) one man can get the manhole cover out without effort, where otherwise two workers were required, and 2) work can be carried out in a substantially more cost-effective and time-saving manner. <IMAGE>
