PURPOSE:To set double-folded porous wicks with air and liquid permeability in slit gains on a burner-head for improved ignition and perfect combustion in an apparatus provided with the wicks, and a combustion air heater and a fuel supply passage for the wicks. CONSTITUTION:At the end of a box body 1, wicks 4 of compound layers of porous foam metal or wire gauze are tight fixed. In the upper part of the wicks 4, a liquid fuel conduit pipe 5 is provided. Liquid fuel is conducted into the conduit pipe 5 through a pipe to supply fuel to the intermediate layers of the wicks 4. An ignition heater is provided in front of the wicks 4, and a duct 10 connected with a blower 9 and others is hermetically fixed in the opposite end to the wicks 4 in the box body 1. Double-folded wicks of porous foam metal, fibrous metal, or the like are set in slit gains 17 with their bent parts 21 faced to the combustion flame side. Since liquid fuel is supplied into the centre of the double-folded metal, it is spread in the fitting face of metal layers, and a vertically uniform flame can be obtained for perfect combustion. |
