Automatic assembling method and apparatus using a pluraity of pallets on a conveyer belt for assembling photographic film cassettes are disclosed. Each pallet has a secondary work holder besides a primary work holder which are arranged in the same positions in every pallet. Parts of a secondary assembly are sequentially fed to the secondary work holder and are assembled into the secondary assembly in the secondary work holder. The secondary assembly and other parts of a primary assembly are sequentially fed to the primary work holder and are assembled into the primary assembly in the primary work holder.
