In a method for performing a bioassay, chemiluminescent molecular probes and a detection solution containing a phosphatase based compound are used to identify and assay genes, proteins or other molecules. According to the invention, a cyclodextrin is added to the detection solution. The invention is used to improve the precision and reliability of biological tests using chemiluminescent reactions.
