A ball valve (10) having a main body portion (11) with a throughbore (14) and a rotatable ball valve (15) closing off the throughbore (14). The ball (15) is of resilient plastic and is comprised of a pair of interconnected sides (17, 18) defining a slot (20) therethrough. The valve body portion (11) has cams (33, 34) associated with the throughbore (14) engageable with the ball side (17 or 18) when the same is rotated. The sides (17, 18), in a first position, close off the throughbore (14), the cams (33, 34) engage the flexible sides (17, 18) and camming the same into fully seated closure of the throughbore (14). When rotated away from engagement with the cams (33, 34), the slot (20) in the ball valve (15) is aligned with the throughbore (14) allowing fluid flow therethrough.
