PURPOSE:To omit an over-band list and markedly reduce a memory capacity of a printer-controlling part, by a system wherein the memory capacity in a sub-scanning direction is set in accordance with the size in said direction of the largest printing character, and writing and recording are controlled by linking the largest address and the first address of memory. CONSTITUTION:For example, where the largest printing character with the number of lines in the sub-scanning direction of '20', when the printing position is 5th-25th lines in a buffer chamber 110, the memory capacity of the memory 110 is set for 20 lines in the sub-scanning direction, so that if printing position data PD are used directly as write address for the memory 110, the front data at 21st-25th lines indicated by broken lines come out of a memory space of the memory 110. Therefore, for the front data at 21st-25th lines, the position data PD indicating the addresses in a printing space are converted into addresses in a strage space of the memory 110. |
