LASER BEAM HEAT TREATMENT METHOD

PURPOSE:To restrain the variation in heating temp. and to improve the quality of a work after heat treatment by using a pulse mode laser beam as the laser beam, at the time of irradiating the work by condensing the laser beam emitted from a laser beam oscillator through a condenser lens. CONSTITUTION:At the time of executing the heat treatment (quenching, normalizing or annealing) by condensing the laser beam emitted from a carbon dioxide laser beam oscillator through the condenser lens to irradiate the work, a pulse mode laser beam is used as the laser beam. By this method, the heating time is prolonged and burning of an absorber is prevented and the variation in absorbing rate on the work at the initial stage of the irradiation is restrained and the variation in the heating temp. is restrained and the quality of the work after the heat treatment is improved.
