PURPOSE:To temporarily protect the subject product with a material having high dimensional stability smoothly by covering a product of mining and manufacturing industries with a coating material comprising a moisture-shrinkable resin molded article having a glass transition point to be dropped by moisture absorption, specific melt temperature and heat of fusion. CONSTITUTION:In a method for temporarily treating and protecting a product of mining and manufacturing industries with a coating material, a moisture- shrinkable resin molded article which comprises a filmy drawn molded article obtained by dissolving a resin such as ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer in dimethyl sulfoxide, modifying the resin by reaction with a proper amount of acetic anhydride to give a resin adjusted to have two properties of reduction in glass transition temperature by absorption of moisture and possession of >=80 deg.C melt temperature and 1-80 kJ/kg heat of fusion, subjecting the resin to blown-film extrusion, drawing in MO and in TD directions in 2-50 times and shrinks >=10% with moisture at 0-50 deg.C, is used as the coating material to smoothly and temporarily coat and protect the product of mining and manufacturing industries in excellent dimensional stability. |
