PURPOSE:To obtain a reversible recording medium of such a type as easily handled by adding a spiropyran derivative expressed by a specific formula as a recording material allowing an optically or thermally recorded image to be erased by heat or light, provided on a support, and further, providing a protecting layer on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A reversible recording material is prepared by adding a spiropyran derivative expressed by a formula as a recording material allowing an optically or thermally recorded image to be erased by heat or light to a recording layer provided on a support, and further, providing a protecting layer on the recording layer. (R1 is H or Cl; R2 is Cl, Br, I or NO2; R3 is H, Cl, Br, L or OMe). The recording material containing spiropyran derivative produces a recorded image by a thermal energy from a thermal head. If irradiated on the entire surface with an ultraviolet beam again after recording, the recording material becomes entirely colored and the recorded image is erased. |
