PURPOSE:To obtain the subject glass fiber maintaining an antimicrobial/- antifungal effect over a long period of time and a production method therefor. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of a silver compd., a phosphate compd. and a starting material for glass fiber is heated, melted and spun. It is preferable that the silver compd. be either one kind or the mixture of metal silver, silver nitrate, silver chloride, silver phosphate and silver fluoride, and phosphate compd. be either one kind or the mixture of hydroxyapatite, fluoroapatite and calcium phosphate. |
