PURPOSE:To improve the sheet member jam processing operation performance by allowing a sheet member carriage means to be shiftable in order to remove a sheet member, wen the sheet member stops in a sheet transfer passage or in a sheet member carriage means. CONSTITUTION:A sheet member distributing device is equipped with the sheet receiving plates B1-Bn, carriage means 2(A) and 4(A) which shift to the position of the sheet receiving plate and discharges a sheet, and sheet transfer passages 13 and 15 for leading the sheet to the carriage means. In the sheet jam processing, the carriages 2(A) and 4(A) are made shiftable so as to retreat to the position where the opening of the transfer passage is not obstructed or the position which is not opposed to the inlet of the sheet. Accordingly, the whole device can be made compact without reducing the processing speed of the sheet, and the sheet removing operation performance in case of paper clogging and anomaly can be improved, maintaining the reliability in the sheet transfer. |
