METHOD OF MOLDING METAL CONTAINER MAIN BODY

PURPOSE: To make minimize wrinkles creased in a profile in the base part of a can body during redrawing by forming a cup having an annular projection protruding from the base wall by drawing a metallic blank. CONSTITUTION: The blank 10 is cut off from an aluminum alloy sheet, is drawn to a cup 12 and then the annular projection or a recessed boss 14 is formed in the base part of the cup 12. The cup 12 is redrawn and is further ironed to be deformed into the can body 18. The can body 18 has a sidewall 20 and the base wall having the pressure resistant profile. The profile in the base part includes a truncated conic outer wall part 24 extending almost inward and downward from the sidewall 20, a dome part 26 protruding to the inside and a circular arc part 28 combining the truncated conic wall part 24 with the dome 26.
