PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of irregular cracking in a production stage and to improve the yield of a product by making a notch at regular intervals on the edge part of the honeycomb formed body consisting of ceramic, etc., and mitigating the stress remaining inside of the formed body. CONSTITUTION:A starting material composition is prepared by compounding a binder or water into metal and/or ceramic powder. This composition is formed to the honeycomb shape having plural cells, and after drying, dewaxed and fired. In this case, notches 2 are formed immediately after forming on the honeycomb 1. Then, the interval L between the notches 2 is made <=1.5c (where, (c) is a diagonal line length of a honeycomb section), and the product is formed by cutting at the notch 2 part. |
