PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet material to be recorded capable of preventing the lowering of glossiness after recording and imparting excellent image density and chroma by adding water-absorbable pigment to the coating layer on a base material and compounding pseudo-boehmite with the uppermost part of the coating layer. CONSTITUTION:A lower layer composed of water-absorbable white pigment is provided on the surface of a base material composed of paper such as regenerated paper, fine paper or art paper or plastic such as polyethylene terephthalate or polyester diacetate. As the white pigment, inorg. white pigment such as silica or kaoline is designated. After the lower layer is formed on the base material, an upper layer containing pseudo-boehmite is provided. Pseudo- boehmite is obtained by heating aluminum hydroxide to change the crystal shape thereof. Since pseudo-boehmite has excellent dispersibility, by forming the uppermost layer of a material to be recorded from a coating layer composed of pseudo-boehmite, a resin clear layer can be formed on the coating layer and smoothness and glossiness are imparted and glossiness is kept even after recording. |
