Method for tuning braille cells, in which piezoelectric reeds 8 to 10 inclusive are used, which are fixed at one end, are supported in their centre and at their other end actuate feelers. According to the invention, the reeds are moved into the correct position by an adjustment being carried out at a position between the ends by introducing, for example, bridging pieces or filler pieces (shims) of varying thickness or adjustment height for a reed; and adjustment member 33 having a gap for a reed 11c to pass through, or a bridging member which can be moved between a sloping section 7b of faces between which a reed can move. It is also possible for a reed to be fixed at the location between the two ends by the reed being fixed by applying such a stress and bringing the movable end into such a position as correspond to the absence of a transverse force in the central section of the reed, and fixing the reed by means chosen at will. <IMAGE>
