<p>PURPOSE:To speed up leading-in of tracking and to shorten the time for shift to a reproducing state. CONSTITUTION:The kind of a tracking pilot signal contained in a reproduction signal from a head 2b is discriminated by a pilot detecting discriminating part 6. A tracking part 7 switches over the polarity of a tracking error signal 24 prepared from a tracking pilot signal contained in a reproduction signal of a head 2a, on the basis of a discrimination signal 25, and uses that signal for a tracking control. According to this constitution, leading-in of tracking from the vicinity of an unstable point is eliminated and the tracking is led in to the nearest balance point. Therefore, the time for leading-in is shortened.</p> |
