<p>PURPOSE:To enable a high-speed rewinding control when a power failure is restored even when the power failure occurs when the tape is in traveling in a magnetic tape device. CONSTITUTION:In the magnetic tape device, the magnetic tape which is wound between two reels is controlled so as to travel at a prescribed speed and with a prescribed tension. The magnetic tape device is provided with a tachometer 7, a servo control means 1 for controlling so as to impress a tension on the tape based on a tension generating motor torque value corresponding to the diameter of the wound magnetic tape, a winding number counting circuit 9 for counting the winding number of the tapes wound around a take-up reel based on the output signal of the tachometer installed on the take-up reel side. It is recognized that rewinding the tape is finished at rewinding based on the counted number of the wound taper represented by the winding number counting circuit 9, and the tape traveling operation is controlled.</p> |
