PURPOSE:To obtain an image pickup device capable of maintaining excellent image forming performance by automatically driving plural image pickup means to the best image forming position and automatically preventing the deterioration of the image forming performance caused by the axial chromatic aberration of a photographing lens. CONSTITUTION:In this image pickup device where an object image based on each color light beam is guided to corresponding image pickup means 5a to 5c after a luminous flux from the photographing lens 1 is color-separated to plural color light beams through a color separation optical system 3; one of plural image pickup means is set as a reference image pickup means, and at least a part of lens in the photographing lens is driven so that an object image is focused on the reference image pickup means. Then, the image pickup means other than the reference image pickup means makes a signal from the image pickup means incident on a focus detecting means 9 and a signal from the detecting means 9 is utilized to set a position on an optical axis. |
