SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTION OF SINGLE SCANNING DELAY INTEGRATED COLOR IMAGE

PURPOSE: To combine the merit of a single rotation path color image gathering system with the merit of a TDI image gathering system. CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with an image detector 118 provided with three delay integration TDI sensor arrays. The sensor array is provided with two rows composed of charge-coupled devices CCDs for each row of the CCDs for gathering images. For the sensor arrays, the first rows of the image gathering CCDs of some two continuous arrays are separated for the distance of height equivalent to the integer K multiple of the triple of the height of the pixel of the image of a document projected by the image detector 118±1 pixel. The spectrum component of the image of the document projected by the image detector 118 is changed from red to green and blue and the image is scanned to the lower part of the image detector 118 for the distance of the height equivalent to one pixel accompanying the change of the spectrum component. Respective pixel lines are projected to the respective sensor arrays by the different spectrum components and the images are gathered in three colors just by passing through the system once without providing filters dedicated to the individual sensor arrays.
