LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display panel which is produced without executing a rubbing treatment and realizes a higher contrast and wider visual field angle. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal layer clamped between a pair of substrates is a chiral nematic phase having negative dielectric anisotropy and molecular major axes 13 of liquid crystal molecules exhibit a twisted perpendicular orientation state between a pair of the substrates. Plural regions 14, 15, 16, 17 where the liquid crystal molecular major axes are oriented in a uniform direction exist microscopically and the directions of the liquid crystal molecular major axes 13 exist differently between the respective regions in the state of applying the voltage above the threshold voltage to the liquid crystal. In addition, the liquid crystal molecules exhibit a twisted orientation state between a pair of the substrates within the regions.
