<p>PURPOSE:To improve sealing strength in the process to form a panel and to improve flatness of the element by huffing the whole surface of a color filter with an abrasive essentially comprising alumina particles containing specified wt.% or more particles of specified or smaller particle size to remove a residual matter on the surface. CONSTITUTION:After a color filter element is formed, the whole surface of the filter is buffed with an abrasive essentially comprising alumina to remove a residual matter. The buffing material is preferably nonwoven fabric or suede cloth. The abrasive essentially consists of alumina and contains >=50wt.% particles having <=0.2mum particle size, >=70wt.% particles having <=0.3mum particle size, and almost 0% particles having >=0.6mum particle size. Grinding is done in four steps. After the surface is ground, the filter element is dipped in an ultrasonic cleaning tank for cleaning with 100kHz frequency and 250W for one min. In the color filter element thus completed, no influence is given in the orienting treatment process, the small rough surface is smoothened by grinding, and flatness is improved.</p> |
