Device for allowing road users to give visually by codification the reason for stopping a vehicle in distress so that, through public spiritedness, other users can alert the emergency services. It consists of a body (3) on which the upper cover (1) and the lower cover (2) are fixed. Magnets (4) and (5) are secured to the covers (1) and (2) in order to connect the beacon to the vehicle. Inside the body (3) there is a reversible and fluorescent semirigid diaphragm (6). In order to use one or other face of the diaphragm (6), the user should pull on the ring (7) and fix the beacon onto the vehicle by magnetisation. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for motorists in distress. <IMAGE>
