<p>Dye is applied to a yarn by passage between one or more pairs of applicator rollers, the dye supplied to the applicator roller in each pair by an associated, peripherally grooved, dosing roller on which the exact quantity of dye is maintained by an arcuate surfaced pad engaging the periphery of the dosing roller. After dyeing the yarn is passed along a spiral path through a heat fixing zone and then washed. The grooves in the dosing roller cause the yarn to be selectively dyed producing a textured appearance.</p> |
