PURPOSE:To allow accurate and positive stripping of a wire, at an end thereof, gripped by means of a general purpose robot by providing means for centering a wire along the center where cutting blades and stripping blades are gathered before the wire is cut off at one end thereof by means of a pair of cutting blades and a cut is made in the insulation coating by means of a pair of stripping blades. CONSTITUTION:Under a state where the stripping blade units are not gathered, a wire clamped by a robot hand is inserted, at the free end thereof, into a wire stripper. A cylinder then functions to gather the stripping blade in the center and the wire is positioned in the center by means of centering guides 353a, 353b. The wire is then cut off at the end thereof by means of cutting blades 351a, 351b and a cut is made in the insulation coating at the end of wire by means of stripping blades 352a, 352b. Subsequently, the stripping blade units are displaced in a predetermined direction and the wire is stripped at the end thereof. This stripper allows highly accurate stripping even if the free end of the wire is not extending straight. |
