PURPOSE:To perform the fine adjustment of picture quality for an output image by giving selectively the gradation characteristics consisting of one or more discontinuous parts to the output image. CONSTITUTION:When the adjustment is needed for the chroma saturation and the contrast, the place where the density is discontinuously changed, and the density increase value and the rise value of the discontinuous points are adjusted on a liquid crystal screen of a control panel 3. These adjusted factors are read and a CPU 4 produces a gradation graph to show a discontinuous point 1 and the density increase/rise value 2 with the original image density Dori and the output image density Dcopy set on the horizontal and vertical axes respectively. Then the CPU 4 processes an image by calculation and outputs it through a printer part 5. Thus, it is possible to obtain the output image of high chroma saturation together with a contrast rather than the mere adjustment of the entire density. |
