<p>PURPOSE:To attain a stylus pen form, and to make a device cordless in order to make the device suitable to character input in a position designating device for computer input. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of a tablet part in which a first detecting loop coil 11 wound several times which is formed by gradually increasing or decreasing a detecting coil width to a position detecting direction so that an output voltage can be linearly increased, and a second detecting loop coil 12 in almost the same shape as the first detecting loop coil 11 are orthogonally crossed and overlapped, and a position indicator 2. The moving amounts of the position indicator 2 are converted into the number of two-phase pulses whose phase difference is 90 deg. based on a voltage induced to the two detecting loop coils 11 and 12 by an electromagnetic coupling between the two detecting loop coils 11 and 12 and the position indicator 2, and connected with a conventional connector for a mouse. The moving amounts of the position indicator 2 are calculated by making the output voltage of the first detecting loop coil 11 correspond to one axis of an orthogonal coordinate, and the output voltage of the second detecting loop coil 12 correspond to the other axis of the orthogonal coordinate.</p> |
