An apparatus 10 for straightening damaged vehicles comprises a base rail 12 of polygonal form adapted to surround the vehicle and flatly contact a horizontal supporting surface, said base rail having a horizontal outwardly projecting flange 32 (Fig. 2), a pulling tool 14 for connection with a vehicle, said tool having a horizontally disposed U-shaped socket 40 engageable with the flange 32 of said base rail and swivel means 55 (Fig. 3, not shown) interposed between and connecting the U-shaped socket of said pulling tool with said base rail flange. The rail is formed with a base 28A and a flange 36 (Fig. 6). The tool comprises a horizontal beam 38 connected to the U-shaped socket 40 and pivoted at one end of the beam is a lever 46 which is actuated by a pressure cylinder 50 pivoted to the opposite end of the beam. A slidable bracket 52 on the lever is connected to a chain 54 for attachment to the damaged part of the vehicle. In a modification the base frame is formed of H- or I-section beams (Fig. 9) equipped with retractable wheels 74 and a pair of vehicle support strips 72 (Fig. 7) and approach ramps 80.
