PURPOSE:To speed up the headout of a character font pattern by the character font readout circuit. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 when setting character codes of one line in a character code register group 2 designates the head line of the character font pattern to an address converting circuit 3. Consequently, the address converting circuit 3 generates a readout address for reading the 1st line of character font patterns corresponding to the respective character codes set in the character code register group 2 out of a character font ROM 4. Consequently, the 1st line of the character font patterns corresponding to the respective characters is read out of the character font ROM and transferred to an image memory 6 (string transfer). String transfer of 2nd-4th final lines is performed, line by line. |
